Simple & Beautiful Spring Decor Ideas | Spring Home Tour
I’ve been ready for Spring for quite a while now. I’m just so excited for things to warm up and for all the colors to start popping up everywhere. Today I’m going to share a few of the ways I added Spring decor to our kitchen, dining room, and entryway. Welcome!
Disclosure: There are some affiliate links below, but these are products I recommend. I won’t put anything on this page that I haven’t verified and/or personally used.
Before we begin I want to take a moment to thank a couple of wonderful ladies. Kelly with The Tattered Pew and Mansa with This is Simplicite. They have been so wonderful in putting all this Spring inspo together!
If you are hopping over from Jen’s beautiful Simple Spring Home Tour wasn’t her home gorgeous! Thanks for continuing the journey!
If this is your first time visiting Open Doors Open Hearts I want you to know how honored we are that you’re here. We love having you. So thank you!
At Open Doors Open Hearts, we believe that if you’re brave enough to open your doors to those around you, you’ll be blessed by hearts opening around you. We hope you enjoy stepping through our doors as much as we enjoy showing you around!
Now let’s get started!
Simple Spring Decor Elements
When I decorate our home I always try to pick out a few different elements and make sure I incorporate them in each room. By doing this I not only create the look I want but also keep everything cohesive.
For our Spring decor this year these are the elements I incoorporated:
Add Pops of Color
This year I leaned mostly into blue, but I also sprinkled a little yellow and pink around. I had some blue in our home during the winter and it just felt right, so I decided to stick with it.
Keep it Simple
Usually, I don’t over-decorate anymore. I definitely used to do this, but as time has progressed and I’ve had kids and such, I’ve cut back on the amount of stuff.
I wouldn’t say I’m 100% a minimalist, but I certainly love the theory behind the movement.
Use Florals
Spring means flowers, right?!
Here pretty soon the daffodils and tulips are going to start blooming, followed by the lilacs and peonies, and then the hydrangeas!
Right now I don’t have any real flowers blooming, so until then I am using some faux flowers. I love them because they don’t care what the weather is outside. They bloom regardless!
Galvanized Metal
I love all the metals: copper, brass, galvanized! They are all gorgeous and I think they are even more so when mixed together too.
But something about galvanized metal just feels like Spring decor to me. Its lighter and brighter than the brass and copper.
Brass and copper are warmer and therefore feel cozier like Fall and Winter. While galvanized feels like Spring and Summer.
Reminders of Hope
I talked about it a little back when I shared how I create peace in my home over the winter. Regardless of the season, I like my home to have little pieces of hope sprinkled about.
In that post a shared a fun and FREE printable that we still use and have so much fun with.
For the Spring decor, I found these two gorgeous vintage molds in the shape of lambs at one of my favorite vintage shops in town.
Keeping Christ at the center of our home often means sprinkling reminders of Him all over our house.
Life can get pretty chaotic and if I’m not intentional I can slip into rhythms where I’m not spending as much time praying, reading, and being. By placing little reminders all over it helps me to slow down and remember.
Entryway Spring Decor
One of my favorite rooms to decorate is the entryway. It’s come a long way since we first moved in. If you wanna see some of the transformations it’s undergone you can head over to my beauty in the process entryway post.
To add the Spring elements that I had selected before I started decorating I put my market basket on the chair and filled it with flowers!
For now, this is a perfect way to utilize the market basket. Soon the garden will be growing and I’ll be able to grab this basket and head to the garden and bring in all our goodies.
But until then, it is beautifully filled with faux flowers.
I also incorporated some blue by pulling out my denim jacket and hanging it on the hook.
One of my favorite ways to decorate our home is with everyday ordinary items. This is one of the reasons I love the European Farmhouse style so much!
I’ve learned so much about decorating and styling our home over the past few years. As a result, I’ve learned that beauty exists in the regular. You don’t need to have the extraordinary to have the beautiful.
I also pulled out our rain boots as another way to add Spring to the entryway using ordinary everyday items.
Honestly, I’m glad I did because it finally warmed up enough here in Ohio to put the snow boots away and go splash in some mud puddles!
The final touch I brought into the entryway was this scarf. On the tag, it reminds me who I am, and It reminds me whose I am. A simple little reminder to help me get through some of the day’s tough moments.
A beautiful, ordinary everyday item that reminds me to never give up hope.
Right off the entryway is my little cozy corner. It’s right beside the big window in our living room, so a perfect place for a cozy corner!
This is the bookcase I did a raw wood makeover on.
PSST, between you and me I love it so much I’m thinking about doing it with another piece of furniture!
Recently I added this sign to my cozy corner. I asked a friend if he would be able to help me create this sign.
He has been making a bunch of wood signs with his CNC machine and I love them. Lucky for me he said yes! He used his CNC machine to cut out the words, then handed it over to me.
If you’re curious about anything else he can do go check him out HERE!
After I had it, I used Miss Mustardseed milk paint in Bergere to get it looking the way I wanted. If you remember my first milk paint experience you know I used finishing oil to get a smooth, deep, and rich finish for that piece.
But for this sign, I wanted to see the uneven and imperfect qualities of milk paint. I love how it’s not perfect by any stretch. To me, it’s another way for the sign to speak a truth that goes one step further than the words on the sign.
These are the good old days, even with all the imperfections.

Kitchen Spring Decor
If you walk straight through the back of the living room from the entryway you’ll be in the kitchen.
Since the kitchen is the heart of the home I wanted to give our kitchen a little extra attention.
I added the galvanized elements by putting one of those lamb molds and a galvanized bucket full of tulips on the counter. My favorite way to add the pops of color is through flowers, it’s also one of the easiest ways to exchange colors throughout the year. But I also used some blue mason jars in the kitchen.
Something about these old jars just screams Spring decor to me.
Sidebar: Do you like my little model? When I pull out the camera my girls either want to help me take the pictures or they want me to take pictures of them.
As far as I’m concerned it’s a win-win! What mama doesn’t want more memories frozen in time?!
PS I didn’t plan this, but isn’t her dress perfect for this impromptu photoshoot in the Spring kitchen?!
In this view, you can see how I’ve mixed a galvanized bucket with my favorite vintage copper finds. My two favorite metals!!!
Recently I wrote a post about these open shelves. I added a few wood elements to the shelves when I styled them. It’s kinda crazy how some small changes can have such big differences! If you’re looking for some shelf styling inspiration head over there for another styling idea!
Okay, one more of this little cutie before we hit the road and head into the dining room.

Dining Room Spring Decor
I love this little corner in our dining room! The vintage pully and the basket!! But my heart LOVES the little cabinet.
My father-in-law and his brother built it for me for Christmas a couple years ago. Its been one of the best pieces of furniture for function in our kitchen/dining room.
In this corner, I added some pink by hanging my dried peonies from last season. When I see them I get so excited for this peony season!! We are talking about buying a couple more bushes for the garden and I can’t wait!
I’ll keep you posted on that!
Also, do you also see another vintage bucket?!
I might have a problem.
I was counting how many I have the other day, and I came up with 6. They are all different and I only actually bought one.
The rest were barn finds! Somehow I think this makes it okay haha!
Speaking of barn finds, I’m thinking about writing a series on some of the barn finds we’ve brought home this year. I did one a bit ago, but we’ve brought home so much more since then!
Our kitchen and dining room are basically one room. So to help create that cohesive look between the two spaces I added more pink tulips and blue mason jars.
Also, I placed the other galvanized lamb molds in the center of the table. Since we want Jesus to be at the heart of everything we do, it only makes sense to put a reminder of Him at the center of our dining room table.

I so much enjoyed your spring home tour, Aliya! The florals you used are so realistic and they add a wonderful touch of spring to your home. I love how the market basket with flowers looks in your entryway and your gorgeous tulips on your kitchen table. I also love your lamb molds, they are something that I always admire in antique stores but have never purchased. They are a great spring decorating idea. My heart melted when I saw your sweet little girl admiring the lamb. After seeing your dried Peonies, I’m inspired to try this after mine bloom in May. Happy Spring!

Aliya, I was so encouraged after reading your post! Not only is your Spring decor gorgeous (and your photos and styling too!) But I love that your decor is centered around Jesus! I’m a pastors wife who is still human, and can get caught up in the doing that I’m not focusing my day on Him! So thank you for that gentle nudge! BTW, your little model is adorable and her dress is perfect for these pictures!! Happy Spring friend!
Aliya
