The final numbers are in and it’s time to share the best of 2021 for Open Doors Open Hearts, and it’s all thanks to you, yes, you!

Before we get into the top posts I want to say a HUGE thank you.

In more ways than you’ll ever know your kind words and sweet messages mean the world to me.

I’ve received messages that have brought tears to my eyes.

I’ve called my husband immediately after reading your comments to share your sweet messages with him because they meant so much to me.

At the core of what I’m doing over here, I hope that you find encouragement and a boost of courage.

So when you let me know that we’ve done that for you – I lose my mind!

So thank you again and again for all that you do to give me encouragement and courage in return!

5 Simple & Thrifty Summer Decor Ideas | Summer Home Tour

This is by far my favorite post of 2021.

But would you believe me if I told you it was supposed to be my last blog post?

That’s right.

I was done.

For a multitude of reasons excuses, I had decided to stop.

But this commitment was still on my calendar.

Then, in only the way God could, He told me that I wasn’t done yet.

I received a dream come true message about this post.

Soon I’ll be able to share the excitement that God provided me with from this “last post”.

But not quite yet!!

One of my blogging hero’s told me, “You never know what’s just around the corner.”

I’m beyond grateful for the gift that God gave me in so many big and small ways after I hit the publish button on my “last blog post”.

An Open Heart Message | Beautiful Grace for Mothers

I didn’t know this was going to be on my top 5 until I started going back through all my posts.

I forgot about it.

But when I got to this one, I stopped and read the whole thing over again.

No surprise, I cried again.

But this time while I cried I was praising God for His beautiful grace, and for sisters in Christ, who would otherwise be complete strangers.

If you feel like you need a little bit of grace for today I recommend this one.

Besides, is there anything more amusing than commiserating with another Mom as she takes her little girls on a 14-hour car ride haha!!

How to DIY A Stunning European Cottage Pot Rack

This one reminds me of courage and stepping out even when you think you’re the only one.

I’m going to type up an entire post focused on this.

It might be kind of funny to think that something as simple as a pot rack could be so meaningful to me.

But the story that goes with the pot rack is really amazing.

I can’t wait to share this post with you, and hopefully, it will encourage you and flood you with courage.

Mint and Pink Floral Shared Girl Bedroom | Beautiful & Functional

Forth on the list for me is the girls’ bedroom.

For starters, their new bedroom is so inviting and they love sharing it with everyone.

When we first finished it, they were so proud that everyone who came through our door was taken on a tour of their bedroom.

Since they were part of the whole process they shared all the little details as they were finished.

From the wallpaper (which was another dream come true) to the bunk bed, and their new DIY bookcase built by Daddy.

I love that they have a space they love.

Simple Farmhouse Kitchen Open Shelves | How to DIY Brackets

I feel like all the posts before this one came with these deep and meaningful reasons for why I’ve added it to this list.

But number 5 on the best of 2021 for me is for a simple reason.

I love to decorate these shelves.

They aren’t anything extra special.

They are simple, easy, and thrifty DIY open shelves.

But I love changing the way they look with every season.

They aren’t for everyone.

I get that.

I’ve heard from so many people who come to my house “They look great at your house, but they just aren’t for me.”

Which is such a polite way of saying “Girl, open shelves are crazy!”

But the best part of making your house feel like home is that it’s all about you and your family.

What brings you joy and peace is different from the next person.

These open shelves bring me joy as the season changes.
