You guys!

This appetizer looks & tastes so amazing.

It’s such a fancy-looking appetizer it looks like you worked so hard to make it.

I recently made crockpot meatballs, which is literally a dump and wait appetizer.

No joke, this cranberry brie bread bowl rivals that in how easy it is!

I can’t wait to tell you about it so let’s go!

How do you cut the rind off brie?

This stumped me at first too, I’ll be honest.

But after a little bit of research, I discovered it’s simple.

The outside of the brie will be fluffy.

That is what the rind is.

Turn the brie on its side and cut that fluffy stuff off.

Done!

The rind is officially removed.

Ingredients for cranberry brie bread bowl

  • 1/2 C. cranberry sauce (I used this easy recipe for homemade cranberry sauce)
  • 10oz brie (cut the rind off and use triple creamed if possible)
  • 1 round loaf of bread
  • Fresh rosemary
  • olive oil

How to make cranberry brie bread bowl

Step 1.

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Step 2.

Then line a pan with aluminum foil to help cut down on the mess of the gooey brie and cranberry sauce.

Step 3.

Now, cut a hole in the middle of the bread bowl.

I set the brie on top of the bread and cut around the brie to make sure the hole was the appropriate size.

Then cut little slices down around the edge of the bread.

This will create the “pull apart” bread bowl.

I cut mine about 1-1.5 inches apart all the way around.

Step 4.

triple creamed brie

After you have a hole cut, it’s time to cut the rind off the brie.

Step 5.

rosemary and olive oil in bread bowl

Next, you will drizzle olive oil in the bread bowl and sprinkle fresh rosemary at the bottom.

We love rosemary, so I used quite a bit, but if you prefer you could use less or another herb altogether.

Something like fresh thyme would work well here.

Step 6.

After that, you need to place the brie inside the bread.

Step 7.

Next, learn from my mistake and place the bread bowl on the aluminum-lined pan, before you spoon the cranberry sauce on top of the brie.

I couldn’t fit all of the cranberry sauce on the brie before I put it in the oven, but after I pulled it out of the oven it has baked down a bit so added a little more.

Step 8.

Place the lid back on top of the bread bowl and put it in the oven for 20 minutes.

Then remove it and enjoy!

Baking brie in the oven is so easy, especially when you’re baking it in a bread bowl.

It’s all about getting the cheese gooey and melted without burning it.

A low temperature is key.

This is why for this recipe you bake it at 350F for only 20 minutes.

I hope you are having a great holiday season and are able to enjoy all the wonderful things that come with the holidays.
