How to Add a DIY Wooden Peg Rail

A shaker-style peg rack is one of the easiest and most charming additions we've done to our kitchen.  Click the link below to see the full tutorial of how we added this wooden peg rail.

You can watch the video where I decorate our kitchen now that we have the peg rail. Just click the link below.

Measure & cut rails

Decide how long you want the rail to be and how many pegs you want it to have. Then space the pegs evenly across the board

Drill holes for pegs

After you have evenly marked the location of the pegs begin drilling holes big enough to fit the peg

Glue pegs to rail

Add a little bit of wood glue to each hole and the back of each peg and then push the peg into the hole.

Secure peg rail to shelf

After the paint dries you are ready to screw the rail to the shelf. We used our 90* drill attachment for this.

How I style the peg rack

Now that it's done I love styling it with functional everyday items. This basket full of garlic is one of my favorites!
