DIY Pot Rack

To start I selected two pieces of wood (1x2's) and sanded them, then I cut them to the length I needed for my wall.

Prime & Paint

After the wood was ready I started adding primer and then painted them. The color I chose was the color that matched the trim in our dining room.

Add Hooks

Once the paint was dry, we added vintage hooks equally spaced across the pieces of wood To make sure you don't split the wood predrill the holes..

Attach the wood to the wall

Because we planned on hanging pots and pans on this rack we wanted to make sure we screwed them into studs and not just anchors in the drywall.

Hide the Screw Head

To prevent seeing the screw heads after the rack was installed we drilled it with a countersink drill bit first.

Hide Screw Head

Then we filled over the screw head with putty, sanded it, and then painted it! Its a great way to give this DIY a more finished look.
