Open Doors Open Hearts

Click the link below for all the thrifty ideas for transforming your deck into an inviting place on the cheap. You'll never believe how cheap the cushions were!

You can also watch a YouTube video where I share the back deck and why it's so important to me to have this space.

Wash the deck

The first thing we did to give our deck a refresh was to wash it. The difference a clean deck makes its amazing!

Stain/Re-stain the deck

Our main deck is made of composite, but the stairs needed a coat of stain and now that it's done the deck looks so much more cohesive.

Spray paint furniture

This patio furniture was a hand-me-down from my Dad a few years ago, and it needed a facelift. With a con of spray paint is brought them back to life.

Thrift cushions and rugs

These are the big ticket items, and you may not always be able to find them for such a deep discount, but i bought the rug and the cushions for $12 total at garage sales!!!

Add plants

Adding plants to the deck is a great way to add life to the deck, but it is also a great way to repel mosquitos. I ruffle the leaves when I walk by to activate the smell.

Over on the blog I have a few more ideas for creating an inviting deck space in thrift fashion. Click the link below and go check it out.
