Creating A Fall Harvest Tablescape: Beautiful & Easy
Easily create a beautiful fall harvest tablescape using everyday items and spend more time enjoying the evening and less time setting it up.
Last week I shared with my email subscribers that life around here has been tough lately.
(If you’d like to join, you can do that at the top or bottom of every post.)
With that, my husband and I have been spending more time just doing the things that need to get done and quality time together is getting pushed to the back burner.
So when my sweet friend Rachel asked me if I would do a post with Fall table decor inspo with her I was so excited.
Usually, when I put a tablescape together my husband and I spend the evening sitting at the table together.
Just the two of us.
We put the kiddos to bed, then sneak back outside and enjoy some one-on-one time.
I knew we needed it so much when I put this tablescape together.
So all of that aside, today I want to share how to create a Fall harvest tablescape that is beautiful and so easy!
Between you and me, I put this tablescape together more than once because of…rain.
Next time I’ll check the radar before I set it up haha!
But the thing is, this Fall harvest tablescape is so easy to set up that it wasn’t that big of a deal to have to do that.
How to Create a Fall Harvest Tablescape
Simple Table Cloth
I’ve done different tablecloths that had more “pop” to them for other tablescapes.
But for this one, I wanted to go with a simple tablecloth.
Nothing fancy.
Just a white cloth.
It’s really nice in many ways because it creates a perfect foundation for ANY color scheme you decide to use.
Traditional Fall colors are usually pretty bold, so white is a good base to build off of and not have to worry about clashing colors.
(But I also like it because if I spill something on it, I can always bleach it to clean up the mess. But I didn’t accidentally splash the wine on this tablecloth, so don’t worry about that bahaha!)
Fall Centerpiece
This is where I start pulling in the Fall themed pieces.
The centerpiece for this tablescape is a few Autumn Olive stems, Queen Annes Lace, and a few dried grasses I found wondering around.
If you saw my Early Fall Living Room Video then you know that’s my favorite way to add elements from nature into my decor.
Just grab a jar of water and a pair of scissors, and away I go, usually with a sweet little girl or two.
It’s a bit messier than buying stems from the store, but it’s so much more fun!
I also added a black vase.
I originally thought I’d add more stems to it, but it felt like a bit much when I started adding Autumn Olive clippings to it too.
But I like the romantic, fall vibe that it brought to the table, so I left it even though it was empty.
Layer Candles for Ambiance
Next, I added candles.
Layer the candles.
Mix n’ match the candles.
I used two different types of brass candlesticks that I found at garage sales and two different types of votives with candles.
One was from my wedding 10 years ago.
They got lost and then rediscovered recently.
It’s kinda fun to pull them out and put them on the table because when I think of our wedding day I think of the best day of my life.
It just felt right to put them on the table.
Fall Decor with Copper and Wood Touches for Subtle Fall Touches
This is another way I added Fall to this table.
A tree plank or slab is a great way to add that rustic and Fall feel.
We have a few of them so I decided this was the perfect place to add one.
I grabbed the small copper bowls I usually have sitting in my kitchen and set them on top of the slab.
I also grabbed the small copper pot that I found thrifting last year.
Again, the black, copper and wood add that Fall time feeling so I decided to add the pot for that reason alone.
It serves no other purpose.
Just to increase the cozy Fall vibes.
Fall Food the Speaks to Harvest Season (Peaches, Pears, Grapes, Etc.)
I’m all about seasonal produce.
It has a natural nod toward the season just because of what it is.
So I grabbed peaches, pears, and grapes.
Not to mention the deep and rich colors are perfect for Fall.
But if you wanted you could go with apples, pumpkins, squash, eggplant, kale/cabbage, figs…
The options are truly endless!
Which is kind of the fun of a Fall harvest tablescape.
Add your twist by adding your favorite seasonal produce!
Now that I’m sitting here thinking about it, Justin mentioned wanting to try some eggplant recipes a couple days ago…
Maybe I’ll be putting together a cabbage and eggplant Fall tablescape soon??
Why a Fall Harvest Tablescape?
The main reason is because of how easy this tablescape is.
By creating a harvest tablescape you are using your food for decorations.
Who doesn’t love to kill two birds with one stone?!
You create a beautiful tablescape that you get to eat!
Another reason to create a harvest tablescape is that you spend less money on decor.

I used to be a more is more type in decorating and table, but have found how I really enjoy a more simple design all around. The table doesn’t have to have every inch covered to be beautiful Love this.
